The inaugural Cyber Research Conference Ireland has just been announced. This conference, chaired by Michael Lang and Séamus Dowling, will be held in GMIT on April 25th. This year I have the honour of being the Programme Chair.

The conference stretches across a range of tracks and topics but importantly focuses on breaking research. I’m delighted that itag are sponsoring the event as this shows the support for the event amongst local industry.

Another point in the favour of this event is that the chairs, co-chair and local chair are all working hard to include diversity in the the programme committee, keynotes and speakers. This is reliant on people putting in papers of course but you can find the call for papers easily if you wish to submit one yourself.

One thing we can be sure of, is that we don’t get together and share our work often enough. How can we stretch our ideas if we are not aware of the research going on around us. How can we progress ideas if we do not collaborate? Providing a opportunity to network and collaborate is essential to help grow the field of expertise in Ireland.

I encourage you all to attend this event and find out all what we have to offer.
